Overview

Johannes T’Kindt was born near Ghent, Flanders, and studied luthiery at the International Lutherie School Antwerp (ILSA). During his studies at ILSA, he worked as an intern apprentice with Stephen Hill, where he got familiar with the Granada style of guitar making. He moved to Spain in 2017 and established his workshop in Nigüelas, a small village in the Sierra Nevada close to Granada. His flamenco and classical models are built in the traditional style but show a quite modern look. The woods are very carefully selected, and the craftsmanship is brought to a high level.

The 2023 Johannes T'Kindt "Romanillos" model guitar, inspired by the outstanding work of José Luis Romanillos, serves as an exemplary artifact of refined guitar craftsmanship. This instrument perfectly amalgamates aesthetics, functionality, and acoustics, illustrating the convergence of musicality and visual appeal. Lightness is the primary principle that drives the construction of this guitar, engendering a characteristic open resonance. This principle's implementation manifests a deep and vibrant acoustic environment engendered by a meticulously designed combination of beech, maple, and Indian rosewood inlays. These inlays enrich the tonal landscape of the instrument, inviting exploration of its sophisticated auditory layers. The ease of playability is another noteworthy attribute of this guitar model, attributable to a well-profiled neck and responsive string action. Each plucked string resonates with a rich, colorful sound that testifies to the instrument's immediate responsiveness, which enhances the playing experience regardless of the player's skill level. In terms of aesthetics, the instrument displays a striking visual appeal, underlined by a prominent Zebrano inlay within the rosette. In harmony with the natural wood grain, this feature provides a captivating visual contrast and meticulous detail, heightening the instrument's overall appeal. The 2023 Johannes T'Kindt "Romanillos" model guitar is an aesthetically pleasing and acoustically exceptional instrument and provides outstanding value. The synergy of expert craftsmanship, superior tonal properties, and remarkable aesthetics underscores its desirability. The instrument’s harmonious sound character and aesthetic intrigue are representatives of its great value proposition. This guitar presents an immersive musical experience, with every note resonating with its distinct tonal signature. Its design, sound, and craftsmanship reflect the esteemed Romanillos tradition, rendering the 2023 Johannes T'Kindt "Romanillos" model guitar a remarkable addition to any musical collection.

  • Classical Guitars

The classical guitar, with its soft nylon strings and characteristic timbre, has become a symbol of chamber music, Spanish tradition, and concert repertoire. Its modern form was shaped by Antonio de Torres in the 19th century, setting the standard for the body, fan bracing, and the 65-centimeter scale length that are still used today. Instruments in this category open up a rich palette from the refined Romantic miniatures of Tárrega to the majestic concertos of Rodrigo. Here you will find guitars that preserve historical continuity and at the same time inspire new interpretations.
