More details about the guitar

Julio Baarslag Espinosa carries the legacy of two families with long carriers in the guitar-making world. In his own words he has “lived in the workshop since he was born, with the luck his parents would not take the tools away from him as he experimented”. He became a technician in renewable energies at the same time he completed his guitar-apprenticeship and finally decided to dedicate himself fully to the family’s craft. Since then, he has become part of his parent’s workshop, which has been open since 1980. Under the guidance of his parents, he has developed his own models, which combine traditional and modern elements to produce his own signature tone. This brand-new guitar by Julio seamlessly combines the traditional artistry of the Granada school with modern innovation through its double-top construction. While honoring the rich legacy of Spanish guitar-making, this instrument offers enhanced responsiveness and playability, catering to the needs of contemporary guitarists. Its swift reaction to right-hand attacks and lively, balanced first string create a dynamic playing experience, making it a versatile option for musicians who appreciate both classic Spanish sound and modern acoustic sophistication. Despite its impressive volume, achieved through its modern double-top construction, the guitar stays true to its Spanish roots, particularly reflecting the distinctive tonal qualities and craftsmanship of the Granada school. This unique blend of powerful projection and traditional Spanish character allows the instrument to deliver a rich, resonant sound while maintaining the warmth and expressive nuance that define the Granada style.

  • Classical Guitar

The classical guitar, with its soft nylon strings and characteristic timbre, has become a symbol of chamber music, Spanish tradition, and concert repertoire. Its modern form was shaped by Antonio de Torres in the 19th century, setting the standard for the body, fan bracing, and the 65-centimeter scale length that are still used today. Instruments in this category open up a rich palette from the refined Romantic miniatures of Tárrega to the majestic concertos of Rodrigo. Here you will find guitars that preserve historical continuity and at the same time inspire new interpretations.
