Kristof Meeus - Lattice 2023 64cm

Kristof Meeus - Lattice 2023 64cm

Overview

After a master in Sociology, Kristof Meeus joined the Centre for Musical instrument Building (CMB) in Puurs, Belgium, in 2006. Working in parallel in Walter Verreydt’s workshop, he very quickly gathered solid skills in guitar making. From 2012 on, Kristof started his career as an independent guitar maker. The CMB then recruited him as a teacher in 2016. As did the great painters for centuries, Kristof went for European travel to refine his knowledge and draw inspiration from his predecessor’s work. He, therefore, visited the collection of Gabriele Lodi, Lorenzo Frignani, Bruno Marlat, Antonio Marin, Rafael Moreno and many more, getting a global understanding of both the old masters and the modern classical guitar.

Hailing from the atelier of the distinguished luthier Kristof Meeus, this 2023 concert model guitar stands as an exemplar of classical craftsmanship, steeped in tradition yet imbued with modern innovation. Designed with a captivating lattice bracing pattern crafted from spruce, it's further fortified by cedar inlays at every junction, lending the instrument both resilience and suppleness.

The guitar's visual allure, especially its intricately designed rosette, subtly evokes the aesthetics of the renowned Enrique Garcia, captivating the observer's gaze. Beyond mere visual appeal, the guitar resonates with a harmonious aura, a quality effortlessly mirrored in its sonorous output. Upon strumming, the soundboard reacts instantaneously, releasing a rich, velvety timbre that speaks of depth and sophistication.

With its impeccable balance between design and playability, the 2023 Kristof Meeus guitar paints a picture of sheer excellence. An instrument of this caliber is not merely crafted, but it is birthed, embodying the passion and precision of its maker. Whether for a seasoned virtuoso or an appreciator of fine artistry, this guitar promises a journey of musical discovery.

While this guitar is sold, these are ready for you

  • Classical Guitar

The classical guitar, with its soft nylon strings and characteristic timbre, has become a symbol of chamber music, Spanish tradition, and concert repertoire. Its modern form was shaped by Antonio de Torres in the 19th century, setting the standard for the body, fan bracing, and the 65-centimeter scale length that are still used today. Instruments in this category open up a rich palette from the refined Romantic miniatures of Tárrega to the majestic concertos of Rodrigo. Here you will find guitars that preserve historical continuity and at the same time inspire new interpretations.
