Overview
Overview
Matthias Hennig trained as a guitar builder from 1999 to 2004 with Kolya Panhuyzen, the nephew of Edgar Mönch. Previously he had completed his training as a carpenter and received 2 further certificates in technical professions. From 2008 he built guitars in his own workshop in Bad Boll. In 2009 he joined forces with the workshop of Kolya Panhuyzen and constantly exchanged ideas with important guitar makers such as Sergei de Jonge, Maurice Ottiger, Sascha Nowak and others.
The beautiful East Indian rosewood for back and sides, as well as the mahogany of the neck of this instrument, come from the stock of Edgar Mönch and were stored for over 40 years. The fine-grained cedar is also about 40 years old and gives the instrument a beautiful warm and round sound. The top is made of alpine spruce in Lattice construction. Thus, the guitar has a very direct response and a strong, yet versatile tone.

Classical Guitars
The classical guitar, with its soft nylon strings and characteristic timbre, has become a symbol of chamber music, Spanish tradition, and concert repertoire. Its modern form was shaped by Antonio de Torres in the 19th century, setting the standard for the body, fan bracing, and the 65-centimeter scale length that are still used today. Instruments in this category open up a rich palette from the refined Romantic miniatures of Tárrega to the majestic concertos of Rodrigo. Here you will find guitars that preserve historical continuity and at the same time inspire new interpretations.Look all products of the collection -
