Petar Antic - 2015 - 8-Strings

Petar Antic - 2015 - 8-Strings

Overview

Petar Antic was born in Belgrade, Serbia, where he grew up surrounded by nature, animals and traditional crafts. As the son of a talented artist and craftsman, he was exposed to natural materials and attention to detail at an early age. At the age of 14, he was introduced to the guitar. Fascinated by a concert by Andres Segovia, he quickly realised that the guitar was his passion. Being left-handed, he had difficulties finding a suitable guitar at the time, which led him to learn the art of guitar making. Petar found his own way, his own vision and style of guitar making, combining the heritage of the great traditional masters with his own personal taste and aesthetics.

This exquisite 8-string guitar, crafted by the late Petar Antic in 2015, is a remarkable piece of luthiery that has been preserved as New Old Stock (NOS) in his workshop. Having never been played outside of its creation space, this guitar is in NOS condition. It showcases Petar Antic's exceptional craftsmanship, with a unique African whitewood top that contributes to its warm and direct sound. Notably agile and responsive, this guitar offers a broad tonal spectrum and superior sonority, making it ideal for a wide array of musical styles and a diverse repertoire. The controlled overtones and overall sound quality make it a delight to play, offering musicians a unique and versatile multi-stringed instrument that is both beautiful and rich in character. This Petar Antic 8-string guitar is not just an instrument; it's a testament to the master luthier's skill and a rare opportunity for guitarists seeking a distinctive and high-quality guitar experience.

  • Classical Guitars

The classical guitar, with its soft nylon strings and characteristic timbre, has become a symbol of chamber music, Spanish tradition, and concert repertoire. Its modern form was shaped by Antonio de Torres in the 19th century, setting the standard for the body, fan bracing, and the 65-centimeter scale length that are still used today. Instruments in this category open up a rich palette from the refined Romantic miniatures of Tárrega to the majestic concertos of Rodrigo. Here you will find guitars that preserve historical continuity and at the same time inspire new interpretations.
