Overview
Rafal Turkowiak was born in Golanice near Leszno, Poland, on 9 January 1966. His father, a carpenter, and grandfather, a wheelwright, had a great influence on him in the field of carpentry and wood technology. Twenty years of guitar-making and experimenting with a very scientific and modern approach brought him to develop construction concepts improving the resonance of the guitar: the “WAVE” structure.
This wonderful instrument numbered 440 is really one of a kind. Due in no small part to the arched back of mesmerizingly figured cocobolo, displaying the extensive color palette of this exceptional tonewood, this guitar has a unique appearance. The cedar top has an outermost light lattice bracing reinforced with carbon fiber to give great responsiveness and lightness. Of course, this instrument features the famous “Acoustic tube” inside the neck to give the latter a greater role in the overall resonance of the guitar.
With its 64cm scale, thin and ergonomic neck shape, elevated fingerboard, and extremely responsive top, this guitar is remarkably easy to play. It is ideal for guitarists looking for a modern guitar offering premium playability and bold, powerful sound. Not only is its tone rich and steady, but it also develops abundant yet controlled overtones. Moreover, the first e-string offers a consistent sustain up to the highest notes. This feeling of consistency and evenness is to be found all around the registers of this guitar.
