Overview
This guitar was built around 1825 in Mirecourt and is stamped on the inside with “Blanchard à Paris”. The guitar has a top which is made of fine-grained spruce wood. The edge of the guitar’s top as well as the soundhole, are decorated with black inlays. In addition to that the top and the back have a decorative white frame of bones. The typical French bridge consisting of ebony has on each end an eye made of mother of pearl. Back and ribs consist presumably of Acajou. The neck however seems to be made of maple and it is framed by a thin veneer which can also be found on the figure eight-shaped headstock
