Overview

Roy Fankhänel’s runs his workshop in Oelsnitz, Germany, where he builds guitars in the German tradition. He shows a very high level of craftsmanship that can be seen in features such as the V-joint, the details of the rosette, the design of the head, and the quality of the construction in general. His guitars are powerful instruments with a generous rich sound. They are very easy to play and feature a slightly radiused elevated fingerboard.

This beautiful guitar is Roy Fankhänel’s new model “Clara”, developed in early 2020. Roy has made some changes in the construction method to produce a guitar with even more projection and volume, as well as an elegant and elaborate appearance. This instrument has a special back bracing and triple sides. Nevertheless, the weight has not increased, and this lightweight guitar is very comfortable to handle. Numerous inlays, especially on the bridge and on the rosette, give it an imposing and well-conceived overall look that shows a strong influence of Spanish tradition.

While this guitar is sold, these are ready for you

  • Classical Guitars

The classical guitar, with its soft nylon strings and characteristic timbre, has become a symbol of chamber music, Spanish tradition, and concert repertoire. Its modern form was shaped by Antonio de Torres in the 19th century, setting the standard for the body, fan bracing, and the 65-centimeter scale length that are still used today. Instruments in this category open up a rich palette from the refined Romantic miniatures of Tárrega to the majestic concertos of Rodrigo. Here you will find guitars that preserve historical continuity and at the same time inspire new interpretations.
