Stephen Eden - 2024 Cadenza No.156
Overview
Overview
Stephen got his first acoustic guitar at 18, after having been passionately into music for many years. He attended evening classes by Master Luthier Stephen Hill in 2004, which inspired him into guitar making. Soon after, Stephen apprenticed at the workshop of Pablo Requena for two years, where he received a great foundation of knowledge and skills that he continues to put to use today. Stephen finally set up his first workshop in 2008. He has enjoyed building guitars for many professional guitarists, such as Paul Gregory, Juan Martin, Peter Stuart, Sean Shibe, Ian Watt, Andrew Gough, Allan Neave, Gaëlle Solall, Pavel Ralev, Bridget Mermikides, and Mark Eden.
The Cadenza model represents an innovative approach to crafting concert-quality guitars that are accessible on a budget. This instrument prioritizes exceptional sound quality and playability, consciously minimizing the inclusion of expensive cosmetic details without compromising the integrity of the guitar. Constructed following the design principles of standard concert models, it utilizes the same high-quality woods and exhibits craftsmanship of an equally high standard. Originally conceptualized as an economical option for talented students, the Cadenza has proven to be more than just an entry-level instrument; it is a concert guitar through and through, designed to meet the rigorous demands of performance without the prohibitive price tag.
What sets the Cadenza apart is its remarkable playability and the distinct separation between the trebles and the basses, ensuring a clear and rich sound that can captivate any audience. This balance allows for a nuanced expression across a wide range of musical styles, making it an ideal choice for players at various stages of their musical journey. The focus on essential qualities such as sound and playability, over aesthetic embellishments, offers aspiring concert guitarists a genuinely professional experience. The Cadenza model is a testament to the possibility of owning a high-performing guitar that facilitates artistic growth and expression, without necessitating a significant financial investment.
