Overview
Stephen Hill is an English luthier based in Granada, Spain. His inspiring career brought him from being a talented flamenco guitarist to building the finest Spanish guitars that can be found on the market nowadays. His inspiration came from both legendary luthiers and legendary guitarists with whom he built close relationships and friendships. Among others, one can name Antonio Marin Montero, Paco Pena, Manuel Reyes, etc. Stephen Hill builds fantastic Spanish guitars. His passion for the guitar seems extremely strong and he passes his knowledge on to some talented students from whom we have also received skilfully built guitars.
This guitar was delivered directly from the workshop of Stephen Hill in Granada and bears the number 248. It is the second double top guitar we have received from Stephen and we are extremely satisfied with the result. This guitar is different from his traditional guitars and has an impressive sound. Lightly built and with its beautiful Ziricote back and sides it combines modern construction with Spanish tradition.
The easy playability is a particularly valuable feature of this instrument. In addition to the power and warmth of its tone, it can be played with impressive ease. As a guitarist, one feels supported and inspired by this double top, as it offers a great feeling of freedom to the left hand. Finally, the trebles are particularly powerful, with a lot of sustain, which creates an excellent sound atmosphere.
