Overview

Tamara Stahl, an emerging guitar maker and graduate of the prestigious Mittenwald School of Instrument Making, presents an exquisite masterpiece of guitar craftsmanship. Through her extensive training and inspiring collaboration with other seasoned guitar builders, this remarkable classical guitar emerged, skillfully combining tradition and modernity.

Featuring seven braces, a spruce top – also available in a cedar variant – and a continuous arch design, this model marries classic beauty with innovative construction details. The arching of the top provides the finely crafted deck the necessary stability and aesthetically harmonizes perfectly with the raised fretboard. This design feature facilitates playability in higher registers and optimizes the overall playing experience. The warm, rounded, and sweet sound, reminiscent of the traditional Spanish guitar, is underscored by the use of East Indian rosewood for the back and sides, and Cedro for the neck.

Tamara herself says about her creation: "In my endeavor to harmoniously unite power and sustain, I opted for a more robust design of the top and back. A slightly heavier bridge supports the vibrational ability of the top, producing a powerful, melodic tone. A reinforcing strip of ebony in the neck also ensures stability and longevity."

This instrument combines the warmth and balance of spruce and Indian rosewood into an acoustic symphony. Despite its modern elements, like the raised fretboard, this guitar breathes the spirit of traditional Spanish craftsmanship. With deep, full basses and luminous trebles, it offers a rich and lingering sound spectrum. Its balance and responsiveness make it the perfect companion for concert situations - powerful without being overwhelming.

This guitar is not just an acoustic gem but also a testament to Tamara's masterful craftsmanship. For the guitarist seeking both flawless sound quality and artisanal beauty, this instrument is an absolute must-have.

Tamara Stahl 2023 No. 10 Classical Guitar Review

While this guitar is sold, these are ready for you

  • Classical Guitars

The classical guitar, with its soft nylon strings and characteristic timbre, has become a symbol of chamber music, Spanish tradition, and concert repertoire. Its modern form was shaped by Antonio de Torres in the 19th century, setting the standard for the body, fan bracing, and the 65-centimeter scale length that are still used today. Instruments in this category open up a rich palette from the refined Romantic miniatures of Tárrega to the majestic concertos of Rodrigo. Here you will find guitars that preserve historical continuity and at the same time inspire new interpretations.
