Wolfgang Jellinghaus - "Manuel Ramirez 1912" Zeder / Granadillo 64 cm

Wolfgang Jellinghaus - "Manuel Ramirez 1912" Zeder / Granadillo 64 cm

Overview

Wolfgang Jellinghaus has been building guitars since the age of fourteen. He was born in 1951 in Dortmund, Germany, the son of a guitar maker, where he grew up with guitars at an early age. Over the years he developed a great passion and expertise for this instrument. Wolfgang Jellinghaus has been living and working in China for several years, where he builds handmade guitars of astonishing quality in a small manufactory.
The guitar built by Wolfgang Jellinghaus is a stunning instrument, modeled after the 1912 Manuel Ramirez guitar used by renowned classical guitarist Andres Segovia. Structurally, it is an exact replica of the original, but with some modern touches. The soundboard is made from cedar, known for its rich, warm tone, and the back and sides are crafted from Granadillo, a wood known for its bright, clear sound. The French polished soundboard and lacquer back and sides not only add to the guitar's aesthetic appeal, but also contribute to its exceptional sound quality. Despite its cost-efficient price, this guitar has a powerful sound with warm tones and an array of beautiful colors. It is a truly remarkable instrument, crafted by a master guitar builder’s team with years of experience and passion for the craft.

  • Classical Guitars

The classical guitar, with its soft nylon strings and characteristic timbre, has become a symbol of chamber music, Spanish tradition, and concert repertoire. Its modern form was shaped by Antonio de Torres in the 19th century, setting the standard for the body, fan bracing, and the 65-centimeter scale length that are still used today. Instruments in this category open up a rich palette from the refined Romantic miniatures of Tárrega to the majestic concertos of Rodrigo. Here you will find guitars that preserve historical continuity and at the same time inspire new interpretations.
