Overview

At HANIKA craftsmanship is understood as custom work and sound as art. A guitar from the famous Baiersdorf manufacture is a symbol of quality and craftsmanship tradition. Since 1953 it has been the basis for the success story of the company, combined with trend-setting innovations. Master plucked instrument maker Armin Hanika took over the company from his father in 1993 and has been building classical guitars of outstanding quality ever since.

The 1a models are Armin Hanika's most beautiful and sophisticated instruments. They achieve an outstanding response with full sound and great separation. Recommended for conscious and advanced players, it entirely unfolds, especially in slow and carried pieces. Of course, the responsiveness of the double top is also of great support when it comes to a very virtuosic repertoire.

This unique and fascinating guitar is the result of a close and long-lasting partnership with Armin Hanika. It was built especially for Siccas Guitars and we are very pleased to have the opportunity to present this unique instrument exclusively in our shop. Its appearance is captivating due to the stunning European yew wood that was chosen for back and sides. This beautiful wood has a bright colouring and a high density, which provides an excellent sound quality and a fantastic sustain.

In addition to the snakewood core, the neck was reinforced with two layers of carbon. The entire body (back, sides and top) is french polished with shellac, neck and head are finished with Hanika's high-end high gloss lacquer. On the rib there is an additional sound port. Back and sides have a binding made of beautiful snakewood. Additional highlights are the fluted nut, the rosette made of Madrona wood, individual inlays on the bridge and the carved heel cap. In addition, this guitar offers a raised fingerboard that improves access to the higher registers. The Hanika 1a doubletop yew was equipped with a high-quality "Scheller-BlackEdition" tuners with gold-coloured engraving and white mother-of-pearl buttons.

Its sound captivates with its pleasant warmth and excellent balance. Yet the separation of the single voices is excellent and due to its overtone-rich fundamental character, it sounds very full and present even in pianissimo sections. This 1a-Doubletop is a guitar at the highest level, which has an excellent dynamic range and easily fills every room with its expressive and warm sound.
