Armin Hanika – 1a Lattice

Overview

At HANIKA craftsmanship is understood as custom work and sound as art. A guitar from the famous Baiersdorf manufacture is a symbol of quality and craftsmanship tradition. Since 1953 it has been the basis for the success story of the company, combined with trend-setting innovations. Master plucked instrument maker Armin Hanika took over the company from his father in 1993 and has been building classical guitars of outstanding quality ever since.

The 1a models are Armin Hanika's most beautiful and sophisticated models. Back and sides are made from the very best hand-picked Mexican ziricote wood with a lattice soundboard made from the finest perfectly split spruce wood. The cedro neck has been reinforced several times at its core with ultra-dense and particularly resonant snakewood, including the heel. The domed soundboard with lattice bracing optimises efficiency. The triple-pierced rosewood-maple-ziricote head and noble tuning machines by specialist manufacturer, Klaus Scheller, underline the high demands that the 1A Lattice makes on quality. This classical guitar impresses visually with its body that has been finished with a UV-curing high-gloss varnish and a soundboard that has been elaborately hand-polished with shellac along with a symmetrically crafted ziricote head plate in a sapwood design.

The 1A Lattice delivers excellent dynamics, a substance-rich sound, crispness and good responsiveness. The materials used for this classical guitar along with its workmanship and sound mean that it is able to meet the highest demands. Matching the quality of the guitar, the carbon case of CCCases, handmade in the Czech Republic, is also included in the price.

  • Classical Guitars

The classical guitar, with its soft nylon strings and characteristic timbre, has become a symbol of chamber music, Spanish tradition, and concert repertoire. Its modern form was shaped by Antonio de Torres in the 19th century, setting the standard for the body, fan bracing, and the 65-centimeter scale length that are still used today. Instruments in this category open up a rich palette from the refined Romantic miniatures of Tárrega to the majestic concertos of Rodrigo. Here you will find guitars that preserve historical continuity and at the same time inspire new interpretations.
