Overview

Bernhard Kresse is one of the most sought-after luthiers worldwide in terms of 19th-century guitar copies. He restored an impressive number of period guitars throughout his career and gathered extensive knowledge of these instruments and many of his guitars were recorded by international guitarists in the past years.

This instrument reflects Bernhard's deep understanding and passion for period instruments. It is an outstanding concert instrument with a very responsive and unbelievable projection for such a small instrument. Moreover, this wonderful guitar is very comfortable as the neck is adjustable and the fingerboard slightly elevated (on the model of Stauffer's patent). One can easily tell that the timber for this instrument was chosen carefully to a very high standard. The combination of the spruce top and striking maple back and sides is just a treat to the eyes. Furthermore, the elegant design of Rodgers' tuning machine adds aesthetic appeal to this instrument and works like a charm. This Stauffer-style guitar is an excellent chance for any guitarist who wishes to perform on a period instrument built by one of the best period instrument makers in the world.

  • Classical Guitars

The classical guitar, with its soft nylon strings and characteristic timbre, has become a symbol of chamber music, Spanish tradition, and concert repertoire. Its modern form was shaped by Antonio de Torres in the 19th century, setting the standard for the body, fan bracing, and the 65-centimeter scale length that are still used today. Instruments in this category open up a rich palette from the refined Romantic miniatures of Tárrega to the majestic concertos of Rodrigo. Here you will find guitars that preserve historical continuity and at the same time inspire new interpretations.
