Overview

About the luthier

Daniele Marrabello is one of the most sought-after Italian luthiers. After his guitar-making studies at the Civica Scuola di Liuteria in Milan, he became Enrico Bottelli’s pupil and deepened his woodworking skills, aesthetical identity, and sound personality under the guidance of the esteemed maestro. Daniele Marrabello opened his personal workshop in Vimodrone, on the outskirts of Milan, in 2012.

About the guitar

This brand-new guitar is the latest creation by Daniele Marrabello and a continuation of his acclaimed “City Series”. The model “Marrakech” was unveiled for the first time at the Roma Expo Guitars 2025 and serves as a tribute to the enchanting Moroccan city of Marrakesh, inspired by a recent journey Daniele took with his family.

Crafted with torrefied spruce for the soundboard and wengé for the back and sides, “Marrakech” blends warm tonal colors with deep contrasts, reflecting the palette of the city and the nearby desert. The neck is made from sipo mahogany, complementing the overall harmony of African woods used in this instrument.

The rosette design is inspired by one of the intricately tiled floors of the El Bahia Palace, while subtle blue accents pay homage to the intense hues of the Majorelle Gardens and the characteristic colors found throughout Marrakesh.

It delivers crystal-clear trebles with balanced, focused basses, providing a sound that is both refined and powerful. The choice of wengé for the back and sides significantly enhances the projection and overall volume of the instrument, giving it the strength and presence required for concert performance. This guitar responds beautifully to polyphonic repertoire, allowing complex musical textures to be articulated with clarity and depth. In addition, it offers a remarkably organic timbre that feels natural and pleasing to the ear.

Daniele describes his inspiration:
“As I moved through the vibrant souk — alive with artisans, carved doors, metalwork, ceramics, and textiles — I was struck by the richness of the craftsmanship and the saturated pigments used in dyeing leather and fabrics, especially the deep, bold blues. All of this energy, tradition, and beauty found its way into this guitar.”

While this guitar is sold, these are ready for you

  • Classical Guitars

The classical guitar, with its soft nylon strings and characteristic timbre, has become a symbol of chamber music, Spanish tradition, and concert repertoire. Its modern form was shaped by Antonio de Torres in the 19th century, setting the standard for the body, fan bracing, and the 65-centimeter scale length that are still used today. Instruments in this category open up a rich palette from the refined Romantic miniatures of Tárrega to the majestic concertos of Rodrigo. Here you will find guitars that preserve historical continuity and at the same time inspire new interpretations.
