Vincent Humml - 2024 No. 56 Doubletop 64 cm

Overview

Vincent Humml is a German luthier from the new generation. Having started his apprenticeship as a plucked instrument maker nine years ago, he studied guitar making in Markneukirchen and refined his skills during various internships and workshops. He established his workshop in Chemnitz, Germany, after receiving the very demanding “Meister” title in lutherie in 2019. Vincent’s guitars are a blend of contemporary design and exceptional craftsmanship, embodying a modern approach to guitar construction while maintaining the rich, traditional sound that classical guitarists seek. His mastery of the double-top technique allows him to create instruments that boast immense power without sacrificing the rich and elegant tonal qualities that are the hallmark of great classical guitars. The visual appeal of his guitars is equally striking, characterized by a purity and refinement in design. Every aspect, from the precise construction to the tasteful aesthetics, demonstrates Vincent’s commitment to excellence. His status as one of the elite luthiers of the new generation is further underscored by his choice of high-quality materials and components, including Scheller tuners and immaculate French polish, ensuring each guitar is a testament to his uncompromising standards.

The No. 56 model by Vincent represents a refined synthesis of modern classical guitar design, integrating a spruce double-top, which enhance tonal clarity and definition. This guitar incorporates Indian rosewood for the back and sides, a choice that complements the spruce top by adding richness and depth to the instrument's overall sound profile. From a construction perspective, this model prioritizes ergonomic playability, particularly for the right hand, facilitating ease of sound production with minimal physical exertion. The neck is sculpted for comfort, and the string action is precisely calibrated to reduce fatigue during extended playing sessions. Sonically, the guitar produces smooth trebles, dynamic basses, and full mid-tones, harmonizing across the spectrum. It features a 64 cm scale length, which contributes to its intuitive feel, making it suitable for detailed musical expression in a concert setting.

Vincent Humml 2024 Doubletop No. 56 Classical Guitar Review

While this guitar is sold, these are ready for you

  • Classical Guitars

The classical guitar, with its soft nylon strings and characteristic timbre, has become a symbol of chamber music, Spanish tradition, and concert repertoire. Its modern form was shaped by Antonio de Torres in the 19th century, setting the standard for the body, fan bracing, and the 65-centimeter scale length that are still used today. Instruments in this category open up a rich palette from the refined Romantic miniatures of Tárrega to the majestic concertos of Rodrigo. Here you will find guitars that preserve historical continuity and at the same time inspire new interpretations.
