Frequently Asked Questions About Classical Guitars

How do I choose the right classical guitar for my level?

Choosing the right classical guitar depends on your playing level, musical goals, and budget. Beginners benefit from studio-model guitars from renowned workshops, while advanced players and professionals often choose a handmade master guitar. We are happy to advise you personally and can send detailed sound samples and videos on request.

What is the difference between a master guitar and a studio guitar?

Master guitars are built entirely by hand in the workshop of a single luthier, using only high-quality, well-aged tonewoods. Studio guitars are made in small series, often under the supervision of the master luthier, and offer excellent value for students and ambitious amateur players.

How do I properly care for my classical guitar?

A classical guitar requires constant humidity between 45 and 55 percent. Store the instrument in its case with a humidifier, avoid direct sunlight and large temperature fluctuations. Change the strings regularly and clean the guitar with a soft microfiber cloth.

About the Guitar Maker

Danilo Bazzana was born in Milan on May 26, 1985. His passion for music began at the age of thirteen when he first picked up a guitar — a moment that would define his future path. After completing his scientific high school diploma in 2005, he enrolled at the prestigious Civic School of Luthiery in Milan. Under the mentorship of master luthiers Lorenzo Lippi and Tiziano Rizzi, he graduated in 2009.

During his studies, Danilo gained hands-on experience in the workshop of master luthier Marco Viola, a renowned builder of Archtop guitars. At the same time, he completed an internship specializing in restoration, repair, and the fine adjustment of plucked string instruments.

In April 2015, Danilo Bazzana opened his own workshop in the center of Paderno Dugnano. Today, he devotes himself primarily to the art of classical guitar making, while also offering expert services in the restoration, repair, and fine-tuning of all types of plucked instruments.

Craftsmanship

Danilo Bazzana builds traditional classical guitars inspired by the techniques and philosophies of the great master luthiers. Each element of his instruments is crafted with exceptional care in the selection and quality of materials, ensuring optimal resonance, tonal richness, and balance.

His guitars are recognized for their elasticity, sensitivity to touch, and tonal complexity. Special attention is devoted to the design of the fretboard to achieve maximum comfort and playability for demanding musicians.

Philosophy

Driven by innate curiosity, Danilo Bazzana built his first classical guitar out of a desire to understand the instrument’s unique character — a curiosity that remains the foundation of his work today.

Through his study of the classical guitar, he became fascinated by its intimate nature: unlike the violin or piano, the guitar produces sound directly through the musician’s fingers — without the mediation of bows or hammers. This direct contact creates a unique symbiosis between musician and instrument, enabling an unparalleled depth of expression.

Danilo believes that the true quality of a guitar can only be understood through the tactile connection experienced when playing it — a feeling that cannot easily be described but is immediately recognizable when an instrument feels “right.”

His goal is to create guitars that fulfill musicians on every level: tonal richness, aesthetic beauty, projection, and playability. These are the essential elements that establish the perfect harmony between artist and instrument.

Remaining faithful to traditional construction techniques, Danilo Bazzana carefully selects each material so that the entire instrument resonates as one. The result is a guitar that responds dynamically to the player’s touch — elastic, tonally nuanced, and crafted with exceptional ergonomic comfort.
