Adrien Savary-Freestone - 2019 Bouchet

Adrien Savary-Freestone - 2019 Bouchet

Overview

Adrien Savary-Freestone studied cabinet making in Paris before specializing in instrument making in Newark, England, for three years. He then decided to further specialize in Classical Guitar and Lute making with the Flemish makers Walter Verreydt and Dirk de Hertogh at CMB in Puurs, Belgium. Fascinated by historical instruments, he has worked for the lute maker Wolfgang Früh in Paris. In his own workshop in Vincennes, Adrien Savary-Freestone creates instruments based on legendary makers such as Torres, Arias, Bouchet, and Lacôte.
A few words from Adrien Savary-Freestone about this splendid Robert Bouchet model:
"When I started guitar making, I mainly built traditional "Torres style" seven-braced guitars. Immediately upon I saw pictures and heard recordings of original Bouchet guitars, I was hooked and curious about his bracing design, with the famous "barre d'âme". Fortunately, my teacher Walter Verreydt once had an original Bouchet in his workshop and made a plan. Since I had planned to make a Bouchet copy for many years, I wanted it to be a special guitar, and that's why I chose a unique set of Pau Ferro back and sides. "
The artistry of this lovely Robert Bouchet replica is at the highest level. With intricate marquetry and sutle-colored veneers, this guitar is an elegant masterpiece. Moreover, confident basses and vivid bright trebles grant this guitar a balanced and inspiring character.

While this one is sold, these are ready for you

  • Classical Guitar

The classical guitar, with its soft nylon strings and characteristic timbre, has become a symbol of chamber music, Spanish tradition, and concert repertoire. Its modern form was shaped by Antonio de Torres in the 19th century, setting the standard for the body, fan bracing, and the 65-centimeter scale length that are still used today. Instruments in this category open up a rich palette from the refined Romantic miniatures of Tárrega to the majestic concertos of Rodrigo. Here you will find guitars that preserve historical continuity and at the same time inspire new interpretations.
