Overview

Brian Itzkin is a luthier native of New York, USA. He built his first guitar at the age of 13. After gaining experience in both classical and acoustic guitar building, Brian Itzkin joined the workshop of the renowned Stephen Hill in Herradura, Spain to further develop his skills under the guidance of the master. The guitar we present here is a new instrument that comes directly from his workshop in Granada.

What a beautiful guitar, with precise and meticulous craftsmanship. The woodworking is excellent, and the finely crafted rosette with a two-tone central checkerboard is very original. The hazel spruce top shows very elegant curls in the grain of the wood. The care dedicated to the outside of the guitar is equal to the treatment of the inside of the instrument. Its construction is impeccable, and the traditional bracing in fan shape is perfectly executed.

This instrument has a distinct sound maturity and a strong character. The balance and tone consistency is particularly pleasant. A real liveliness in the treble response combined with a long sustain makes it a charming guitar that the player can make sing very easily. It is therefore a particularly inspiring guitar, entirely handmade in the Spanish tradition, at an attractive price.

While this guitar is sold, these are ready for you

  • Classical Guitars

The classical guitar, with its soft nylon strings and characteristic timbre, has become a symbol of chamber music, Spanish tradition, and concert repertoire. Its modern form was shaped by Antonio de Torres in the 19th century, setting the standard for the body, fan bracing, and the 65-centimeter scale length that are still used today. Instruments in this category open up a rich palette from the refined Romantic miniatures of Tárrega to the majestic concertos of Rodrigo. Here you will find guitars that preserve historical continuity and at the same time inspire new interpretations.
