Karlijn Langendijk, born in 1995 in Uitgeest, The Netherlands, was immersed in acoustic guitar music from an early age. Inspired by her father, she began playing the guitar at 13. Karlijn’s compositions transcend simple emotions, instead capturing a spectrum of intricate feelings that are deeply felt yet hard to articulate. As a guitarist and composer, she is captivated by various musical genres and cultures, blending them into a unique style. Her evocative melodies stimulate the imagination, reminiscent of a film soundtrack that exists solely in the listener’s mind.

In her live performances, Karlijn effortlessly transitions between dreamy ballads, rhythmic grooves, and interpretations of popular songs. Between pieces, she shares vivid stories about her experiences and inspirations that shape her compositions.

Karlijn has performed alongside renowned musicians such as Tommy Emmanuel and Peter Finger, touring extensively across Europe, China, Japan, and India. She released her debut duo album “Leap of Faith” with acoustic guitarist Tim Urbanus in 2015 under the prestigious label Acoustic Music Records. In November 2015, she won both the first prize and the audience prize at the SAI Acoustic Guitar Competition in the Czech Republic. She also reached the finals of the Acoustic Guitarist of the Year 2018 competition in London and was ranked 6th in MusicRadar’s Top 10 Acoustic Guitarists of the Year 2020. In January 2021, she received the sponsor prize at the European Guitar Award. The pinnacle of her career came in August 2023 when she won the 1st prize at the Francisco Mário International Prize for Modern Guitar – Europe.

Karlijn graduated from the Conservatory in Utrecht in 2017 and completed her Master of Music in Acoustic Guitar at the Hochschule für Musik in Dresden in 2019, where she studied under esteemed musicians like Thomas Fellow, Reentko Dirks, and Stephan Bormann.

Her solo EP “Luna,” released in July 2017, features a captivating and diverse selection from her solo repertoire, which she frequently performs on tour. In 2018, she co-founded MusiSHEans, a community dedicated to supporting and empowering female musicians to be recognized for their talent rather than their appearance.

In December 2019, Karlijn released “MERAKI,” a duo guitar album with Czech guitarist Ladislav Pazdera, featuring virtuoso rhythmic pieces and atmospheric ballads. Her latest album, “ATLAS,” released in March 2022, marks her solo debut and includes 11 original compositions inspired by her travels, significant life events, and personal interests.

  • Classical Guitars

The classical guitar, with its soft nylon strings and characteristic timbre, has become a symbol of chamber music, Spanish tradition, and concert repertoire. Its modern form was shaped by Antonio de Torres in the 19th century, setting the standard for the body, fan bracing, and the 65-centimeter scale length that are still used today. Instruments in this category open up a rich palette from the refined Romantic miniatures of Tárrega to the majestic concertos of Rodrigo. Here you will find guitars that preserve historical continuity and at the same time inspire new interpretations.
