Rafal Turkowiak - Opus Prime 2024 No. 680

Overview

Rafal Turkowiak was born on January 9, 1966, in Golanice, near Leszno, Poland. Influenced by his father, a carpenter, and his grandfather, a wheelwright, he developed a strong foundation in carpentry and wood technology. With over twenty years in guitar making, his scientific and innovative approach has led him to create construction concepts that enhance the guitar’s resonance.

The Rafal Turkowiak Guitar No. 680, called "Opus Prime," marks the next step in his evolving craftsmanship, following the celebrated “The Queen of Guitars” model. This unique instrument has a spruce double-top, providing remarkable volume and playability. A distinctive feature is the “Acoustic Tubes” inside the neck, which enrich the guitar’s resonance, creating a warm, enveloping sound that fills the room. The hollow neck is specially reinforced to add stiffness, contributing to both stability and tonal quality.

On the sound side, the trebles are warm and sweet, with precise voice separation that delivers a balanced and inspiring playing experience. The basses are deep, with a low resonance close to E. This guitar also has excellent playability, thanks to its 64 cm scale and well-shaped neck, and includes 21 frets that reach up to a sharp C note. Overall, this remarkable guitar exemplifies Turkowiak’s dedication to artistry and acoustic excellence, providing joy and satisfaction to any guitarist.

Rafal Turkowiak 2024 No. 680 Classical Guitar Review

While this guitar is sold, these are ready for you

  • Classical Guitars

The classical guitar, with its soft nylon strings and characteristic timbre, has become a symbol of chamber music, Spanish tradition, and concert repertoire. Its modern form was shaped by Antonio de Torres in the 19th century, setting the standard for the body, fan bracing, and the 65-centimeter scale length that are still used today. Instruments in this category open up a rich palette from the refined Romantic miniatures of Tárrega to the majestic concertos of Rodrigo. Here you will find guitars that preserve historical continuity and at the same time inspire new interpretations.
